Norway Tragedy

Amen...

Now I Remembered Why I Never Made It to the IT Industry

I was trying for the last.... *looks at clock* 3 hours, trying to understand the IT jargon (FTP, SQL and etc...), learning to upload a new template from my hard disk, only to realise that wordpress doesn't allow FTP uploads! *tears hair out* So why are there websites telling me that I can upload custom themes? Then, I read somewhere that there's a difference between wordpress.com and wordpress.org. Why so complicated?!

Then, there was the onslaught of error messages. Computers... Ok, perhaps it's not their fault. It drives me absolutely nuts to get the error messages that goes something along the lines of:
Error code:  bskx... whatever yadda

Import failed due to server error...

Error... Error... Error...

Oh my gosh... Why can't it just explain clearly what went wrong, in plain English. Or Mandarin. Or pop a genie out and clear the mess up for me with a snap of his fingers.

I took a module on web designing when I was doing my Diploma in Business (what has HTML got to do with Marketing 101, or Intro to Tourism?!) and barely passed the module with a C grade on a website about hamsters.

I think it's still easier to work with troubled youths than with computers. At least, I've never destroyed a keyboard working with them. :)

A Pole Workout

Whoever says that pole dance is nothing more than posing, acting sexy and slithering up and down the pole, ought to be sent for an intensive pole dance boot camp!

An hour's worth of workout on the pole never fail to leave me with aching muscles and bruises for the next couple of days.

Why put myself through such pain? Well, there's satisfaction of completing a session of pole dance/ fitness and leaving the studio with adrenaline and endorphin coursing through me; the satisfaction of being able to do gravity-defying stunts (look mama, no hands!); gaining more flexibility, core and upper body strength as I practice; and of course, the look on The Boy's face when I show him the pictures ;)

Give it a try, if you're not afraid of pain and bruises. It's not as easy as it looks!

Sleepy Sunday

Woke up to a bright and sunny Sunday... Which would have been nice if I hadn't gone to bed past 3:00am last night. The Boy and I, together with friends, caught the late night movie for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II. It was shown in the IMAX theater with superb surround sound system and 3D screen, and I must say that I really enjoyed the movie.

A tad too late for breakfast, so I decided to make lunch for us instead.

Ravioli topped with Bolognese  sauce & Danish herbs cheese

Salad topped with Danish herbs cheese

That one meal took us through the entire day. Phew...!

Dropped by Orchard Central and look who I saw - Ming and the ladies of Acro Polates! Caught their fantastic pole dance performances for the CozyCot event.

What I'm wearing - Crochet vest: Love Bonito, Dress,:Cotton On, Feathered belt: polkadotpigs

Went shopping with The Boy after the event, and it's wine and cheese time back at home now.

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Sunday as I did. Till my next post, hyvää yötä!

Breezy Brunch

It has been a nice breezy Saturday, with the sun playing peek-a-boo with the clouds. Fantastic morning for a jog. The Boy and I jogged our way to the Supermarket (around 3km away) to pick up some groceries for the brunch that I promised to make.

Salmon salad
Pan-fried salmon with ravioli & salad topped off with babybel cheese & pouched egg

It was my first time trying to make pouched egg, and it wasn't a very successful one. After watching this lady cracking an egg into a pot of boiling water (in some British Tv programme), I decided to have a go at it myself. Didn't work out... Half the egg white disintegrated into the water, leaving me with very tiny pouched egg.

Pointers anyone?
