Food Galore with Happy Call Pan

I know the craze on the made-in-Korea Happy Call pan has been going on for some time. So last week, I managed to get my hands on one! A relative gave my grandma a pan but she decided to stick with her trusty wok. Rather than to let the pan collect dust in the storeroom, I decided to bring it home and put it into good use over the weekend!

F1 Sunday

After a hiatus from nursing a really bad cold, I'm finally well enough to sit in front of the computer and tinker with the photos taken during the Formula 1 Singapore weekend (23 - 25 September).

Black, White & Red Sunday

Sunday was warm and so thick with haze that I was practically choking with every breath. And now it's even worse! Thank God pole dance is an indoor fitness activity so I've no excuse to skive off!

Feeling a little lazy, I decided to put together this outfit and minimal make up for a Sunday afternoon out with The Boy. I don't think there's a need to clog my pores any further with make up when the haze is this bad!

Ack...! I wish the haze will go away soon... :(

All Things Bride and Happy

The Wedding Show held at Capella Singapore, on 20 August 2011.

Invited guests were brought on a tour of the facilities and the rooms, before being led back to the lounge area (with lots of daybeds!) to chill out before the fashion show started. Here are some of the photos. Enjoy!

Above are some photos of the outdoor pool area that can be done up to cater for a solemnization ceremony of up to 100 people. And for those who're not too keen to get a tan on your wedding day, you can choose to do your ceremony, either indoor (in air-conditioned but smaller room) or outdoor but under shelter (picture below).

Capella can also do up your wedding dinner venue according themes and here are some of photos the new themes available for your dinner. Unfortunately, I couldn't quite remember the names of all the themes on display.

You can also choose to do an upgrade to get a more elaborately decorated tables. Below are photos of the theme 'Apple of my Eye' in the standard and upgraded version. Honestly speaking, I prefer the simple standard version :)

And look at all the delicious, visually pleasing, sugar-coma inducing desserts available! Boy... I haven't had this much sugar in a day, for a long time!

Some samples of wedding cakes. And no, it's not for sampling!

A prelude to the start of the wedding show. The models were modeling some of the jewellery from Boucheron but I was focusing more on those gowns!

Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take pictures of the Michelle Huimin Bridal Veil 2012/ 2013 Collections that was being showcased.

A bit of description of what I saw: Asymmetrical designs seems to be the in-thing, and there were also some cheongsam-inspired evening gowns. For those who do not know what is a cheongsam, it is actually a body hugging, one piece Chinese dress for women. It is known in Mandarin Chinese as the qípáo (旗袍). The men's suits were not the usual black and white tuxedos but in colours like blue, brown, off-white, grey and there were even suits in metallic sheen!

Some local celebrities were also spotted at this bridal fashion event, and plenty of champagne and tapas were served to keep the guests lounging around happy. :)

And speaking of food, it's dinner time!

A Walk in the Park

The Boy and I decided to go for a walk in the park since it's been a long time since we've done that. Turns out, the turtles in the pond were pretty hungry today. And unfortunately, we only had a couple of bread slices on hand to feed our animal friends...

That's me carbo-loading the turtles

And the bread was also shared among the squirrels, birds and a few sneaky little fishes.

And Birdy here waiting for the bread. Anyone knows what specie is this bird called?

I enjoyed my Sunday and am looking forward to a new week ahead :) I hope everyone's had a wonderful weekend!

Sleepy Sunday

Woke up to a bright and sunny Sunday... Which would have been nice if I hadn't gone to bed past 3:00am last night. The Boy and I, together with friends, caught the late night movie for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II. It was shown in the IMAX theater with superb surround sound system and 3D screen, and I must say that I really enjoyed the movie.

A tad too late for breakfast, so I decided to make lunch for us instead.

Ravioli topped with Bolognese  sauce & Danish herbs cheese

That one meal took us through the entire day. Phew...!

Dropped by Orchard Central and look who I saw - Ming and the ladies of Acro Polates! Caught their fantastic pole dance performances for the CozyCot event.

What I'm wearing - Crochet vest: Love Bonito, Dress,:Cotton On, Feathered belt: polkadotpigs

Went shopping with The Boy after the event, and it's wine and cheese time back at home now.

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Sunday as I did. Till my next post, hyvää yötä!

Weekends

The Halloween Saturday was spent at work doing line dance, pigging out at Mac's with W and H before driving over to Vivo. The Boy joined us later and we all had coffee at Starbucks. Then it was scary movies at his place . I fell asleep on his lap while he watched on.

The last weekend was awesome. Spending some quiet times and some noisy times with him, having breakfast together, watching House and Californication. Pure bliss :)

In his words, "Every weekend should be this good."

Her Awesome Weekend

Her awesome weekend started at 7:00am with her losing her temper BIG time, swearing and cursing at someone whom she should not have. She become more grumpy as the incident resulted her in being late. BUT the work went pretty well and her mood brightened up as the clock ticked closer to 2:00pm.

Then it was a long ride to Harbourfront where her newly banked in paycheck allowed her to indulge in a new white bikini which she wore for a swim at The Boy's place. His eyes widened and he nodded in appreciation as he looked at her. A long lazy afternoon at the pool then it was battle time with warcries of "Taste my Pigeon!!!" and "Alleluiiiaaaaa!!". Play Worms and you'd understand what I'm saying. Next was drinks and supper at The Queen & Mangosteen.

Alcohol and fried food don't mix well so it was no go for morning mass. Then again, The Boy probably appreciated the extra snooze :D

Finally washed up and popped over his place with coffee and kueh kueh for him and his family. A long lazy afternoon in the pool and a sunburn later, it was to the church then Vivo. There.... He bought two shirts and she got herself a nice pair of boots from Zara.

And the delicious spinich pizza after shopping pretty much summed up the night.
